Captured recently in London at the premiere of Be Cool. I'm a film journalist and we can't afford the wires so I'm forced to improvise with my own kit and miraculously allowed to get away with it by the studios who still invite me back. The ceiling of the cinema is dotted with spotlights and I thought they had a particularly starry atmosphere about them. I liked the whole star in the stars idea.
Shot in colour and processed to B+W in Photoshop. Leveled a little, but not too far. I was fortunate that she and the lights were the brightest parts.
I'm still learning, event photography is so fast and where I am in the interview area they're not really expecting photographs. Half of the stuff I come home with is unusable and, I'll tell ya, I have some funny photos of stars not neccesarily at their best. Of course, I'd never release those ones out of respect.
The lovely Uma Thurman, wow. Tall as heck, I'm telling ya! She rushed down the line and of about 20 exposures I got two or three I could really use. This was one of them. Slightly back-focused I think, but I did my best.
It was, but it was exhausting too. So much to concentrate on and do, the line moves so fast that while you're interviewing The Rock, Uma Thurman is a foot away and you're forced to pull away to grab a shot. I was alone with a camera in that area because I was surrounded by the nationals and television/radio and they can afford wire shots, make video, and not need shots at all respectively!
Sucks to be a poor onliner! But it means I get to try my hand at stuff like this and with my new D70 it's fun as heck!
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
